When you told me to tell her
Thanks for the cookie,
The way you said Cookie--
How it sparked from the
Collision of tongue and palette
And tumbled softly into my ears--
Cookie--
And how such a word changed your face
After you said it--
Sweetened my fondness for you.
Cookie.

I can say cookie without
touching my tongue to my palette.
Oh wait, isn't a palette the
wooden thing used to stack boxes
of Famous Amos chocolate chip
cookies on at Costco? I can do
that for a cookie. I *would* do
that for a cookie right now.
